Pause 4 Paws Board
Jill Goldstein, Executive Director & Founder
Jill Goldstein founded Pause 4 Paws and became its Executive Director in 2011. Creating this organization was a continuation of Jill's lifelong commitment to fundraising and volunteerism, modeled on the extensive work of her parents. Jill is an astute networker and advocate in the animal welfare community, guiding the organization through nearly 7 years of financial growth and giving. She was inspired to found P4P after she adopted her dog and cats from Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue and Second Chance Animal Rescue, and learned about the prevalence of euthanasia, over-population and abuse and neglect of animals. In addition to her tireless volunteer efforts on behalf of Pause 4 Paws, Jill is the founder and owner of Goldstein Mediation, a divorce mediation firm located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Jill has a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of St. Thomas.

David Goldstein, Corporate Fundraising
David is a seasoned fundraiser and has been actively involved with non-profit organizations since he was 21 years old, beginning with one of the world’s largest international service organizations, B-nai Brith. In 1973, David and his wife, Nancy, founded Homeward Bound, Inc. whose mission is to provide innovative, high quality services and supports to children and adults with disabilities and to help them lead fulfilling lives. Never officially retired, David remains actively involved in numerous non-profits and became active in the animal welfare community when he learned of the great need and horrific situations that existed in his own state of Minnesota. He works tirelessly to generate a strong pipeline of corporate sponsors and to generous contributors to support the work of Pause 4 Paws. An animal lover throughout his life, David has been owned by Penny, a bichon, and continues to open his home to his grand-dogs and grand-cats.
Nancy Goldstein, Corporate Fundraising
Nancy has over 40 years of fundraising experience, holding vital positions with Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure and establishing Homeward Bound, Inc. in order to provide an opportunity for her son and other children with special needs to live in their communities. For over 40 years, Homeward Bound has served hundreds of children and adults living with disabilities and has grown from 1 location to 18 homes around the State of Minnesota. Bottle feeding a litter of German Shepherds as a child generated Nancy’s commitment to the animal welfare cause. When her daughter, Jill, founded Pause 4 Paws, Nancy saw the great need to help defenseless animals who have been exposed to abuse, abandonment and torture, and to address what can be extensive medical needs. Nancy serves as a core member of the board and supports P4P through a wide range of volunteer activities.
Steffany Fleming, Event Planning
Steffany Fleming joined the Pause 4 Paws board in July of 2017 and plays a key role in planning events for the organization. Before becoming the Sales and Marketing Director with Clix Portrait Studios, Steffany was a stay at home mom for over 20 years while also volunteering and raising money for schools and local charities. She has been married to Tom for 28 years and has 3 grown children. They reside in Maple Grove, MN, but love to go to their cabin up north whenever they get the chance. When not working on her "projects" as she calls them or following her children's many activities, Steffany loves to pursue her hobbies of photography, travel and just hanging out with her dogs and beloved animals. She is also a 7 year breast cancer survivor. She mentions this last, so as to make it just a small piece of who she is.

Rachel Lien, Event Planning
Rachel Lien joined the Pause 4 Paws Board in January of 2019. She is involved in all aspects of fundraising, as well as event planning and execution for the organization. Rachel's interest in P4P began when she was looking for opportunities for her division at General Mills to get involved in the community. Through a conversation with founder, Jill Goldstein, she knew P4P was the right place to direct her passion for helping those who can't help themselves. Rachel has been married to her 5th grade crush, Erik, for five years and they have two beautiful daughters together (2 1/2-year old Peighton and 1-year old Charlee). They recently moved back to their hometown of Maple Grove to raise their family. When Rachel is not running around with her girls, she is enjoying the lake life up north, shopping for unnecessary things (or so her husband says), and planning events!
